Palominas Elementary School District was established in 1909, by the Cochise County Board of Supervisors in Tombstone. Serving a rural ranching and homesteading community along the San Pedro River near the U.S.–Mexico border, the district built its first permanent school building in 1912.
Today, PESD includes three schools, serving over 800 students in Hereford, AZ.
